7-12-10 Hi Im Andy and I am wonderful! My foster momma tells me so every day. I love to run, wrestle, eat, and cuddle! I love being with people and have never meet a stranger. My foster momma laughs because even though I bark with my foster brothers and sisters when the door bell rings - all I want is for whom ever is on the other side of that door to love me! I use to be sneaky and my foster momma would find me curled up in the couch fast asleep. But I have trained her well, now she just leaves a nice soft blanket for me to curl into. I am great in the house. I know that gentlemen go potty outside and that I have to listen to what my foster family tells me. I even listen to my 3 year old human foster sister. She is funny she loves to take me on walks in the back yard and I love it when she gives me treats. I am always careful to take the treats gently. Don't let my manners trick you, I am still a young boxer and I love to play! My favorite game is anything that includes running in circles and jumping high in the air. Sadly I do have a medical concern, my back legs are not quite right. It does not really slow me down, but the wonderful people here at Blue Ridge are going to get me special surgery which will help me to walk better and not be so stiff. Please don't let this scare you away. I have been through a lot and am so grateful for everything that has been given to me - won't you let me share my love and gratitude with you?
6-23-10 Hi Everyone, its me, Andy! Sorry I have been MIA for a while, I have been doing some traveling! I had to venture over to Raleigh to see a special doctor about my legs. We had to wait a little while to get an appointment so I have been crashing at a house with another bigger boxer boy, he likes to play too! We play every morning after we eat breakfast - you know food always comes first! I love treats so much I will go running into my crate for one. The lady here doesn't trust me to stay out in the house because I am so young. But she had a change of heart today. Since I have been doing so well (no accidents and no getting into things I'm not supposed to) she decided to let me chill in the house while she went to class this morning! I was so excited I was extra careful so that she would let me out more often. I think I impressed her because when she got home she walked through the house and then gave me extra special love. Yesterday I finally got to go see the special doctor, it was a big scary place! I was very uncomfortable.... but I listened and was very nice to everyone that poked and prodded me. They took some xrays and said that I have to have surgery on both legs! You see, my back legs look funny, my patellas are on the inside of my knees instead of in the front. I don't even have a groove where they should be. So the doctor is going to make the groove and put my patellas back in their proper place. While he is in there he is also going to look at my ACL and make sure that is ok. Unfortunately, this surgery is going to be very expensive - $2000 for each leg! Now, I know what you are thinking... and this was a birth defect and had nothing to do with my earlier life. Actually, it is a pretty common birth defect, the doctor I saw said he had 3 other dogs with the same issue this week! Ok, gotta go plan my trip back to my foster mom (I miss her a lot) talk to you later!
5-5-10 He loves to chew and wrestle but what young dog doesn't. I see pictures of him from before and I am shocked at how far he has come. He is such a sweet loving dog. A bit stubborn and willful - typical male :P But he listens well and is eager to please. He gets along with everyone - can be a bit overwhelming for tiny or older dogs- but thats because he LOVES to play. He is a good eater and will do just about anything for a treat
2-4-10 He has been in my home for 10 days now. It's amazing how much he has changed in that time. He use to just lay around getting up only to eat or go potty, now he is starting to act like a pup should and is all about wrestling and playing with my dogs/cats/child he loves everyone he has meet thus far.
2-1-10 More to come on Andy!
