You can save animals like Freddie by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters, so that they have more time to find a permanent family. Freddie is the perfect size for the city - that's why we got him out of the country! Freddie found himself in a rural kill shelter, but with his short soft fur and compact size, he really belongs in the city! So we brought him up to the DC area! Freddie is great with other dogs and super sweet with people. He has a very happy bounce in his step that makes him pretty much irresistible.
Freddie is definitely a young guy with lots of energy who likes playing fetch and playing with other dogs so he would love a home where he could go to a dog park and/or visit with doggy friends regularly. He seems to have some separation anxiety when left at home alone so he will need an owner who's willing to work with him on that. You can learn more about dog separation anxiety at
