Good w/Kids: Does well with older children understanding of his energy, puppy behaviors and needs. The entire family needs to be willing to work with him to allow him to come full circle.
Training: All are a work in progress and can vary depending on his activity level and focus at the time, no training when he came into rescue: sit, wait, watch it, touch it, shake, load up, off, out, leave it, kisses, give me some sugar

More Info: Wally demonstrates some patterned behaviors which have an unknown origin...choke collars scare him to death, even the sound of them. Life for Wally travels to the left...small to huge and varies on his activity level & comfort with a situation. Unless you knew he had this issue you'd not notice it unless you spent time watching him. Taking medication under the eye of a behaviorist, vet and myself he's found improved self control and an ability to focus on learning. Medication costs $4 a month. Eyes, depending on his energy level and comfort zone, appear not to track together at times which adds to his unique facial expressions and no intervention is needed.
Wally came to rescue a thin shelter stray, scared, nervous, without any manners, so active he'd drop at the end of the day from a lack of rest, no control of himself and no ability to focus on anything...life wasn't a happy place. With routine, exercise, understanding, "jobs" and medication Wally is making continued progress and is well on his way to being a wonderful family member. This little bundle of energy has become a joy to have around in a home not use to such an energy level. Wally resides currently in a house of special needs dogs and they've been a huge part of his "therapy" by not being reactive and at the same time letting him know what's ok and what's not and making the world around him a fun place to be. Birds in the home are visual entertainment and he'll sit and watch them with his face on the cage and the birds aren't reactive to him now. Wally will thrive in a home able to see the progres! s he's made and the future companion he'll be. Loves to go for rides and see the world go past at his speed. Wally would do well in a home with a fenced yard to let him run and explore the things around him, although he's not a fan of the cold. Older kids willing to play with him and knowing when to stop to let him regain himself would be a huge plus...did I say he likes to play fetch? Enjoys being near people and loves to snuggle especially at the end of the day. A family member home during the day would be perfect. Best part...there's not a mean bone in his body. A big toy basket and a soft place to rest are all he needs to feel special at the end of a busy day. (Note: Wally is sitting on a slipper, that isn't a tail, lol).
