CAMMIE is a 8 year old, young at heart, German Shepherd Catahoula Leopard mix, weighting 45 lbs. She has until recently lived most of her life at the shelter because she is shy around new people but not anymore. Cammie is in a foster home and is adjusting very well. She is housebroken, does well with other dogs and cats. Cammie's foster Mom says this about her.
"Cammie is doing great. Cammie has had the run of the house with my dog friend Skittles, and she is extremely well behaved. She loves hangin' out in the arm chair recliner for hours. She doesn't care much for barking and has had no accidents in the house and lets me know when she has to go out by standing by the back door. She likes to sit by the window to watch the world go by. Right now she is sitting in the arm chair while I work on the computer. I really believe she will make anyone a wonderful companion . She really is so sweet and loves to be loved. If I am lying on the couch she will come over and give me her paw so I will pet her and show her some lovin. She is a wonderful loving dog,"

Cammie is a gentle girl with a sad past who is looking for someone to provide her with a fresh, happy start!

Cammie was in a litter that was found in the woods. Cammie was the only one in the litter that was not social..very scared of people. With help from the daily volunteers at PTA, Cammie has blossumed into a very sweet, loving dog, but because of her age is looked over time and time again. Cammie greets the volunteers with a sit and lifts her paw to give her love. She is very gentle and cares for those she knows. She is smaller, only around 45 lbs.

Cammie melts our hearts with her tenderness. She is quiet and loving but unsure of herself when she is outside of the shelter. With time and patience she would adjust and be a wonderful pet. She would likely be best in a household with no small children but another dog or cat would work well. She is good on the leash and crate trained, spayed, up to date on all her shots and micro chipped. Please give Cammie the chance she deserves to have a normal, happy and fulfilling life!

Please contact Cammie's foster/rescuer Kathryn for additional information at jrp2001@charter.net.

We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
