Meet W.VIRGINIA Bear

CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA:Bear was rescued from a neglectful home where he was living in squalor with his daughter, Princess.
Bear has spent his life as a livestock guardian dog, watching over his owner's herd of goats.
When his owner died, her husband sold all of the goats and stuck the 3 dogs in a small filthy pen, which is where they were when we found them.

Bear is a super sweet dog and is all you would expect from a guardian dog.
He is friendly and readily accepts pets and attention but he is a watchful guardian and will alert to anything being amiss.
Bear would do well in either a small farm with goats or as a companion dog. He's such a good natured dog that he should do fine in either setting.
He is not good with chickens.

Bear is neutered and ready to be adopted. He tested a very low positive for heartworm and has been receiving treatment. He shows no signs and the vet said his heart and lungs are clear and he has no damage.
He is listed as special needs due to this and some mild hip discomfort.>
