Jake was adopted in August 2009. He is now known as Cody. Cody's Mom was kind enough to call, and then e-mail, an update on how Cody is doing. "This is him today; you can see how his coat has filled out. It is shiny and thick now. He is beautiful, and very smart! He is very calm and friendly with both other dogs, adults, and children. He has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen's Award and his certification from Therapy Dogs International. He "works" as a therapy dog at a local nursing home on a regular basis. On May 15th, in his first Obedience Trial, he got 1st Place and his (first) blue ribbon! I am soooo proud of him. On the second day of the trial, he placed again, this time in 4th place, with another ribbon. (2 for 2) In two weeks we are going to Akron for another trial where I hope to get his third leg and complete his CD title! Then we will move into training for Open, the next level of obedience. We will go as far as HE wants to go with it. Although, I must say, he seems to love being in the ring! Thank you, again, Jean, Shirley, and all of Canine Collective. Sadie (my little cocker and Cody's sister) love having Cody to complete our little family. " Cody's Mom just sent in another update. Cody did receive his CD title in Obedience. And at his third Obedience trial placed 2nd, just a few points shy of 1st. He has now won ribbons in all three of his first three Obedience trials. Go Cody!!
