Meet Isabella

9/3/11 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!
Adoption Fee: $500

Fostered in Texas

Age: 1.5 years

Weight: 13 lbs.

4/21/11 - It’s just really sad that a young gorgeous gal such as myself is still in need of a permanent home. I was given up at a very young age and none of the applications that have been submitted for me previously match what I’m looking for and need. I’m going to break this down for everyone:

I’m a bigger girl (13 lbs. of pure yorkie to love) with a mind of my own. I am head strong and will need an alpha role (with a tender touch) to keep me in line and on my paws. I tend to want to take over if my human will let me and we all know in the yorkie world that can be grounds for disaster. I have a bit of separation anxiety, so will not be able to go to a home where I am left all day. I don’t see this as being a problem that I love my humans so much, I never want them to leave. I still have some puppy nature and can be a bit mischievous, but again, this is where you come with your alpha role. I can be a bully with other female dogs, but get along fine with the males. Should I be punished because other females don’t have the confidence that I do? I think not. I love children and get along great with them. I would probably do well with a larger dog, just as long as it isn’t too alpha where friction pursues and someone gets hurt.

Now on my softer side, I am a nurturing, sweet and loving when I want to be. There is another foster at my home right now that is much smaller than I, and I tend to “look after him”. I’m also gentle with another one of the foster pups that is a little sickly right now. I’m also a very smart pup. Once one of the other fosters was on crate rest after surgery, and I kept “freeing” her from her jail cell. Boy, did this make foster mom think she was going crazy. Everytime she crated her for rest, minutes later, she and I would appear from that room together, like partners in crime.

I am more than likely the result of bad breeding and lack of positive direction when I was younger and will need to be kept in tow now for those humans’ failures.

I know, a tall order to fill, but haven’t you ever heard that “The best things in life aren’t easy?” Maybe it’s “The best things in life aren’t free”. Well, I’m not that easy and I’m not free.

11/16/10 - Isabella was seen by the surgeon last week who said that her knee has healed well. We are looking for a home with no other females since Isabella does not do well with them. She would love to have a brother to play with.

PLEASE HELP ISABELLA! HER SURGERY COSTS ARE $3,200.

9/9/10 - Isabella was discharged from the hospital yesterday. She is back in her foster home and resting.

9/7/10 - 5:50PM - Isabella's surgery went well. She is in recovery. They did a TPLO and MPL repair and she should be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.

8/23/10 - Isabella was seen by the surgeon today. She may have a partially torn ligament in her left hind knee, but the best way to determine that is to watch her for two weeks to see if there is improvement. She does have luxating patellas and it may be just that and not need surgical intervention. She is using her knee somewhat, but still is favoring it often. She is being medicated as needed for discomfort.

8/21/10 - Isabella got up this morning, went outside to play and somehow injured her left rear leg. She was seen by the vet who feels she has either a stretched or partially torn ligament. She is being referred to the orthopedic specialist for a second opinion. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She is on medication for the discomfort, but has her ears down and is very sad today.

8/16/10 - Isabella is a joy! She loves to play and she actually watches TV! She is a very smart pupster and loves other pupsters as well as children!

1/22/10 - Isabella has a new look!

1/17/10 - Isabella is a ball of energy! She loves to play with her foster siblings and would love to go to a home with another pup, preferably a male. Does much better with males than females as she is a very strong willed alpha girl!

Her excitement piddling has gotten better, but with new people it still does happen on occasion.
She needs work on housebreaking but is a very smart little girl who will get it!

10/6/09 - I have been spayed and am ready to go to my furever home! I am not yet housebroken, but we are working on it. Also, I have some "excitement piddling" going on. I get very excited when meeting new people and in new situations and show this by piddling. The vet says this might just be a passing puppy thing. I would love to have a home with a playful pup or two!

9/17/09 - Tomorrow will be my six month birthday! Foster mom is going to have a party for me and my friends!

8/24/09 - I turned 5 months on August 18th. I now weigh 9 pounds. I am a playful, happy girl. Foster mom said I am to be spayed in a couple of weeks and then I can go to my furever home.

7/7/09 - Darling Isabella is growing in leaps and bounds. She is currently 15 weeks old and 6 lbs. Ms. Priss will definitely be able to hold her own with other furbabies since she will not be a tiny one -- Just that much more to cuddle and love! She gets sweeter by the day and is such a lovable pupster.

6/25/09 - Isabella loves to play with other pups! She rips and runs through the house with one of her step brothers playing tug of war. Boundless energy! But, at night, she settles down and sleeps well!

6/16/09 - Since she was not responding to her name, we have opted to change it to Isabella!
Isabella went to the groomer today and was pretty well behaved given her age. We want her to get used to being groomed now so that she is comfortable with it for the rest of her life! She is getting along very well with her foster siblings and loves to play with toys!

6/14/09 - Rosie was surrendered to Yorkie Haven by her parents who found themselves unable to care for her. Her mom must have surgery this month, and her dad travels, so they asked us to find a wonderful home for Rosie.

She just arrived today, so we will update her bio as soon as we know more about her personality.
