URGENT: FOSTER or ADOPTER NEEDED!
Oliver is one gorgeous dog and he just loves people! His favorite thing is to get hugs and tummy rubs.

He was rescued from the shelter right before he was to be killed. Oliver was terrific in the car and then when I took him to the vet for a check-up, he lay down on the floor, resting on my feet--the better to pet him, of course!

Oliver has a sad story. He was abandoned in a back yard with a German shepherd. No one knew they were there for about a week--all they had to drink was sprinkler water! UPDATE: I just heard that the neighbors didn't know that they were there for two months, not one week! How they survived, I don't know.

Animal Control was called and they were hauled off to the shelter. His buddy got adopted right away, but poor Oliver sat in the shelter waiting for his new home. He became a huge favorite of the shelter volunteers.

But finally his time was up. The volunteers were distraught. That's when Critters in Need heard about poor Ollie's plight and rescued him in the nick of time.

The video shows how sweet and relaxed he was at the vet. He is truly a lover!

Oliver is a long-coated rottie, which apparently stems from the rottweiler's Bernese mountain dog ancestry. The long coat is a recessive gene which pops up occasionally in litters. Long coated Rotts generally are very handsome, have great bones, are intelligent and usually have lighter eye color than their short-haired counterparts.

Oliver would prefer to be the only dog in the household; the better to have all that lovin' for himself!
