This companion animals name is Uncle Burt. Uncle Burt has earned his name at R.E.D. because of his love for puppies. He is so happy to show little ones about and to play gently with them He is tolerant and loving with all puppies. We have found this nurturing personality to be rare and extremely endearing. He has helped raise many puppies that had no parental guide. So for this we are thankful.

Burt is a Pug and Chihuahua mix and he is a cute fun guy. He loves to play ball and can either play with you or by himself. Very cute when he plays ball by himself. He was born with a bad (knee) patella's. RED had the surgery done to correct this issue and he is now ready to go. He is crate trained and rides well in the car. He does well with most other dogs. He has been super good with the cats he has met and even hangs out nicely with the RED rabbits. We love Burt and are looking for someone special for him. Mandatory fenced yard. No apartments. Some Condos and homes with a private use fenced yard maybe considered. No children under 11 years of age. Adoption donation for this companion animal is to be determined when he is ready. Donations cover some of the care costs for R.E.D. animals. Like housing, supportive care, medical needs and food. R.E.D. is the companion animal's advocate and will select the most suitably matched home/environment for the the companion animals emotional needs and management requirements based on each companion animal's breed(s) general needs and the unique needs of each individual animal in our care. (1) Application, Phone interview, Home visit are required. Adoption Donations are generally $100.00. to 450.00 or as posted. Donations support R.E.D.'s life saving missions and medical and other care given.(2) R.E.D. Dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, vaccinated for Parvo Distemper and generally are micro chipped. (3) You must be at least 18 years of age to complete the application or to apply to adopt a companion animal. For the safety of children and dogs and limited information on dog the dogs interaction with children- R.E.D generally prefers/requires children in adoptive home to be approximately 5 or 6 years of age and up unless otherwise noted in the dog profile. All children must be behavior appropriate with animals. (4) R.E.D. does not a ship animals to out of state adopters. Out of state adopters must come to meet the animal in person in Washington if approved for a meet and greet with a R.E.D. companion animal. Thank you.
