Meet Sushi

Sushi is about 2 years old (December 2008). She is a friendly, gentle house cat who was placed in a stable when her owners moved away. The barn cats did not welcome the newcomer, attacked her and chased her away from the food.

People gave her a little box in a stall and Sushi spent most of her time in the company of a horse. Then the barn cats found her hidey-space and attacked her again. A rider took her home one evening because she felt sorry for the friendly little cat.

It was a long drive and, upon arrival at thee 'interim house' she was frightened by some large dogs.hid in a sink and got all wet. Sushi was taken to a Cat Rescue Network foster home at 10 pm that evening. The frightened, wet little cat was was then taken from her warm carrier, dewormed and given Revelotion. Through it all she sat silently, did not struggle or hiss, and obediently swalloed the medecine.

Sushi is adjusting well to the foster home. She enjoys the warmth, the readily available food and most of all the attention she is getting.

She is a bit frightened of the house cat; although he is a gentle creature he sometimes hisses at her and that frightens her..memories of the barn cats.

Gentle Sushi will do well in a quiet home without young children, barking dogs, or dominant cats. She feels safe with people and will be an affectionate companion for the right person.
************

Sushi was adopted by a widow who has been quite lonely since her husband passed away. She settled in to her new home immediately. She has toys and a fleece lined bed which she liked, but also liked to sleep on the couch. At night she cuddles up with her new owner. When people visit the condo, she studies them from a distance for a while, and then comes up to greet them, the perfect hostess. Mostly she seems happy to be able to eat quietly, without being chased away by other cats.
Through her new owner, she has even invited two members of cat rescue network to come to tea.
