Meet Shadow

Arrival story: Poor Shadow has a sad story to tell. She and 4 other dogs were kept as outside-only dogs and were neglected. So badly neglected, that their owner's neighbors called the authorities to report the abuse. Shadow and the other three dogs were seized by the local Animal Control agency, and once their physical and medical conditions were documented for legal reasons, they were made available to rescue. That's when Waggin' Tails stepped in.

Approximate age / weight: Shadow is 2 years old and currently underweight. She will need to put on some pounds to be at a healthier weight. Shadow has accomplished this fact.

Personality: So far, she is very sweet and relishing the love and attention she is now getting.

Forever home: As of July 23, 2008, Shadow is not ready for adoption. She, along with the three other dogs taken from the home, have heartworm and will need to receive treatment. Shadow will not be ready for adoption until mid September due to the medical treatment she requires. Shadow has completed her heart worm treatment and is now negative.

A perfect home for Shadow is a very loving home. Other animals would be a plus but not necessary. She loves to go for rides in the car and also for long walks. She sticks to me like glue, she is truly my shadow!

Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit. We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
