Meet Murphy ~ ADOPTED!

Arrival story: Murphy is a purebred Irish Setter that was given as a surprise gift. A young man gave Murphy to his girl friend as a gift. They did not realize what would happen to Murphy if their relationship fell apart. This couple wasn't prepared to raise a puppy and surrendered Murphy to Waggin' Tails.

Approximate age: Murphy is 1 yr. old. He was born on November 15, 2007.

Personality: Murphy is very loving. He loves to be with people and to please. Murphy does very well with other doggies and small animals. One of his foster siblings is a parrot named Polly. Murphy gets along well with Polly and tries to play with her. Murphy knows some basic obedience commands, sit and stay. He loves to play ball and run with his foster siblings. He is submissive and playful with other doggies. Murphy allows his foster parents to take toys and food away from him. He is such a good boy. Murphy does really well in the car. He loves to go for bye bye rides. Murphy is house trained.

Forever home: Murphy needs a good size fenced yard to play and romp. Murphy would do well with another doggie to play with. His forever family must look forward to raising a puppy with a lot of energy. Irish Setters are known to be high energy dogs. He needs a family that will look forward to taking him to obedience classes and who will recognize that for him to be the perfect adult, he'll need time every day for mental and physical exercise...just like any puppy!

Contact: Please contact his foster mom at romanpegleg@aol.com if you'd like more information about Murphy.

Pre-Adoption Application::

To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to romanpegleg@aol.com.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, $275 for small breed dogs or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check
www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at PetSmart in Northville (on Haggerty Rd between 6 and 7 mile) or PetSmart in Canton (the northwest corner of Ford Rd and Haggerty Rd). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
