Darwin Domestic Short Hair Mix Temperance, MI

This is Darwin. He and his siblings Jordan (the bengal looking boy) and Jimmy - a clone of himself but one the very small side are here in fostercare in Temperance, MI. Their momma (Delilah and also in fostercare here), at the time pregnant found herself homeless in June of 2007 . We brought this gal in and then later learned she is FIV+. Unfortunately, both Jimmy & Darwin have tested positive as well. There is much known now about this disease. There is lot of research and facts about the transmission, or lack there of, of fiv from mothers to their babies. We are including some links below for your reference and strongly encourage you to read them. Please don't let the fact that his mother tested positive for fiv scare you away from adopting this sweet boy. Please give him a chance. It is not a death sentence for his mother and he did not ask for his mother to test positive for fiv. Fiv is not easily transmitted between cats, either and even those that do test positive likely will live a long normal life.

Darwin is friendly and does extremely well with other cats and dogs. We have a litter of puppies here now who are 6 weeks old and Darwin plays as though they're of the feline breed, running, pouncing and chasing. He uses his litterbox great and has no bad habits to name. He is a little shy/nervous around those he doesn't know but is social and once he gets comfortable with you is very loving. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He has gorgeous yellow eyes which are quite stunning set against his shiny jet black coat.

All babies including momma are doing extremely well in foster care, they are active and playful and full of life. Darwin has been neutered, combo tested and fortunately is negative for feline leukemia, wormed and vaccinated. He is now ready for a home of his own.
