Flying with Your Pet
Taking your pet on the plane? Here are some policies to note:
- Baby on board: While some airlines only fly pets more than eight weeks old, US Airways, JetBlue and Spirit don't have age requirements.
- Beyond dogs and cats: Delta allows birds, ferrets, rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs (and some dogs and cats) in the cabin.
- Two's company: Spirit, American and Northwest allow two pets per carrier (restrictions apply).
- Load limit: AirTran and Delta don't have weight restrictions as long as pets fit comfortably in their carriers.
