There's a lot of variety in dogs' ears -- from long and droopy to short and erect. But something common to every dog, regardless of ear size or shape, is yeast.
Yeast in your dog's ears is normal and not cause for alarm. In fact, you probably don't even know it's there. However, if it multiplies and leads to an infection, it can cause your dog discomfort.
A dog can develop yeast infections on numerous areas of her body, including between the toes and on the anal sacs, vagina or rectum. One of the most common and troublesome places it occurs, however, is the external section of the ear.
