Dear Friends,

Some of you told us (with last month's survey) you have found wonderful veterinarians. We would like to include them in our Petfinder Local Services and Supplies Directory so others in your community can find them, too. We want this resource to be "all things pet," so help us spread the word. Tell your favorite vet, groomer, pet sitter, pet photographer, trainer, etc., they can list their services free — or they can upgrade to a paid listing. And thanks for supporting our mission to end the euthanasia of adoptable pets.

After 24 years of marriage and with our youngest child about to go off to college, I wasn't ready to let go of my "mommy nurturing," so my husband agreed to our getting a dog. Several times a day for months I checked the Petfinder Web site. One morning a picture of "Squeekers" caught my eye, and I knew I had to see her, so I took my neighbor with me to PAWS. Squeekers was very scared and underweight, but she sat on my lap as I softly spoke to her and told her I'd come back to take her to her forever home...continued

GRANT UPDATE
The Petfinder.com Foundation awarded over $31,000 in disaster relief grants to adoption organizations that suffered damage from floods this spring and summer. We also asked Petfinder members to submit grant requests for disaster preparedness projects in their shelters. We awarded over $134,000 in response to those proposals. Your contributions help make these grants possible. Read about ways to give.
