Note from
Our Founder Dear Friends, Our adoptable pets are on the move! A few weeks ago, we launched a new feature that lets our adoption partners post video clips of their adoptable pets. It was an instant hit. Within 16 minutes of launch, Friends of Attleboro Animal Shelter added a clip of Peanut, a Pit Bull, in action. We're positive that these video clips will help more pets get adopted — and that's our mission. Thanks for helping us with it.

Happy Tail: Puppy Mill Pooch
From Teresa Byland of Rochester, Minnesota:
Claude had lived in a puppy mill his entire life. He was neglected, is almost completely blind due to untreated dry eye and is missing most of his teeth. When I adopted him, he was seven years old...and had probably never been in a house before. Despite everything he has been through, he is friendly and affectionate and seems to genuinely love people. He has adjusted well to life with me...and loves having his own backyard to explore, lying in a sunny spot on a nice afternoon and walking in the neighborhood, taking in all the intriguing scents and making new friends.
Claude was adopted
from Jewell Animal Hospital in Jewell, Iowa.
Do You Have a Happy Tail? Send us your Petfinder pet's happy ending story. It will be entered in our monthly Happy "Tail" drawing, and you may win a Man's Best Friend Fun Pack and a baseball cap from our friends at The Animal Rescue Site. |

Fall into Love!
Enjoy a few suggestions for sharing the love during this colorful season!
NOVEMBER IS ADOPT-A-SENIOR-PET MONTH As the weather turns colder and you begin to spend more time indoors (watching the fire or Meerkat Manor), wouldn't it be great to have more furry company? Fall in love with a senior pet during November, Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month. Senior pets make great sidekicks--no puppy antics or kitten crazies to worry about--and they have tons of love and appreciation to give.

DOES YOUR PET DO A TRICK FOR A TREAT? What's

SAFETY TIPS FOR HALLOWEEN
- Keep pets indoors. Pranksters may be on the prowl.
- Candy, especially chocolate, isn't good for your pet, so no sharing!
- Goblins on the porch may frighten your pet, so limit his or her access to the door.

Treats, Tips & Interesting Morsels
HERE'S WHAT YOU SAID! TRAINING TIPS Last month we asked you to share your favorite training tips. Here are our favorites:
Walking on a leash: "A backpack is a must in our 'pack.'" The dogs are "much calmer and focused on the walk, less prone to pulling too hard or wandering side to side. And the backpack gives them a sense of purpose, a job."
Food guarding: "I gained my dog's trust by placing his food on my lap...I gradually put the food on the floor in front of me and then moved to his regular eating area...I can now put my hand in his dish (to add a treat), and he is very comfortable with it."
You can find dozens of training tips on Petvideo.com!
