Dear Petfinder.com Friends and Supporters,
Since our inception, we’ve helped over six million pets find their forever homes. By registering at Petfinder.com, you've told us that you support our adoption mission:

TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL ADOPTABLE PETS HAVE A CHANCE FOR A HOME.

Celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week!
Volunteers are one of an animal shelter or placement group’s greatest assets. We’d like to take a moment to tip our hats to those of you who donate your time to help the homeless pets in your community. The countless hours you spend grooming cats, walking dogs, taking photos to post on Petfinder.com, holding adoption events and much more make an enormous difference to those pets waiting to find the right home.

If you aren’t a volunteer now but would like to be, now’s the perfect time to jump right in! Add your name to the Petfinder volunteer database to let Petfinder.com member shelters and placement groups in your area know you are available to help them help their pets. And next year, we’ll be celebrating your efforts!

Share the heartwarming Happy Tail below with a friend and let them know that they can make a difference in a homeless pet’s life by volunteering.

A Volunteer's Story

Adopting Goldie has changed one family’s life. Goldie was a stray, living on the streets of Puerto Rico, when she was rescued and brought to a shelter in New Hampshire by Muttley Crew Rescue, Inc. They treated her for heartworm, malnutrition and mange.

When she had recovered, The Hocters, who live in Barrington, NH, saw Goldie on Petfinder.com and traveled to Jaffrey, NH, to adopt her. “She is very affectionate and loves being hugged,” Patricia Hocter says. “She has become great friends with our black Lab, Sable. Goldie has gone from rags to riches.”

Goldie inspired the Hocters to help other dogs by opening their home to foster dogs. “It feels so wonderful to help a dog in need,” Patricia says. “The rewards are endless.”
