Post subject: PLEASE HELP find this CAT FRITZ
Reply with quote

I saw a post in shannon and marks forum asking for help and responded.

This man and his wife desparately need your help to find their cat.

He has told me that this is the first he is hearing of this forum so I am
starting this thread for him but have told him I will send him a link
and that he should register so he can come here and look at what
you find and answer your questions.

This is what I have from him so far. His cat is listed several times
on petfinder. From what I understand, every time he contacted
someone they would put in another petfinder listing.

If you know of any way he can get into all the listings that DON'T have
his telephone number so he can PUT his telephone number in those
PF listings PLEASE post it here because ONLY ONE of the listings has
his telephone number and one has an unknown tel number.

here are the links and pictures for fritz.............
i am going to list all of them in case there is some detail in
one of them that might Not be in the other.

ALSO if you look at the last description, he does not actually
know if fritz was rescued or if he got out after the storm.

fritz was inside the house but his wife was unable to catch him
and had to leave. she left litterbox, food and water on second floor.
storm blew out a door so he is now able to get out of the house
and may be going and coming.

he had someone set a trap and another cat was trapped but not theirs.
so he is not sure if fritz was rescued or not ?

he is going back tomorrow to pick up the other cat that was trapped.

NOTE: i already sent him petfinder listing # 37554 but he had already
seen that cat and that is not his Fritz.

I re-sized the picture to better show you Fritz;

http://tinyurl.com/dtgkn

ABSOLUTEY NO stripes! He has no tiger striping on him. Sort of a cross between a short-haired and a long-haired.

Fritz has some wonderful human parents. Ron (the owner) told me this;

"There are feeders putting food out and a trapper at my house setting traps
for him...We did catch my neighbors little stray cat that lived outdoors and
which she usually forgot to feed (we fed her), and I am going through New
Orleans on Wednesday to pick her up and take her home to my wife in
Birmingham...It will be the first real home for this poor little
female.

I hope we can find his Fritz. Someone with this kind of heart, needs to get his kitty back.

Susan, those are some good picks. It appears that Ron sent an inquiry on that first one. I emailed him to see if he has heard back yet.

I happened to notice a similar looking cat in the Katrina pictures on the Fulton County Animal Services website. It is identified as a St. Bernard cat. No indication of where it has gone or even male/female. It was identified as someone's favorite cat, so maybe they kept track of where it ended up. The site is www.fultonanimalservices.org go to the link of the Katrina pictures.

thanks susan... i emailed this man again and gave him your
links to look at and encouraged him to register and post on this
thread.

however, i do believe he said he was going back to N.O. today to
pick up the other cat that was trapped by a trapper when someone
was helping him in case his cat was still in the area, so i don't know
how long he will be gone.

so everyone please keep looking. i am forwarding him your
links for kittys to look at.

and thank you gemee !!! that is great !! you are an expert !!!

okay.... QUESTIONS:

#1
does anyone know if it is possible to update or correct those
PF listings he has for his cat. all of them should have that 888 telephone
number and they don't. i really think that is important in case the
person who has his cat see one of those listings and wants to contact
him and has no way to do it because they are not even crossed referenced.

#2
if he sees a cat that he thinks is his but there is No contact info
other than that thing you click on to email, if he posts the number
of the cat here, i believe i have read where there are people who
can look more closely at the info fo rthe PF listings that WE can't
see and possibly get him contact info ..... IS THAT CORRECT ?
he has told me he has sent out dozens of those email things and
all he gets is the auto response message saying the cat is no longer
with them or something like that. he needs help getting past that
point to find contact info for some of these cats he has seen that
he thinks may be theres.
HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

and here is the picture gemee enlarged for us.......thanks again gemee !!

Please oh Please Help Find FRITZ

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I don't think they brought the cat back to Atlanta. It was on one of their rescue photos from when they were helping out. I don't know how to insert the photo here, but here is a better link.

I just sent him some information on how to contact the person caring for a cat that he has sent several inquiries to, but hasn't gotten a response.

thanks da mao !!! i think it looks too light to be his cat BUT you
never know and since his cat has a notch in one of his ears it narrows
down the guessing work. so thanks for telling us about this one.
below i pasted in the picture. i wonder how we can find out where
this cat is now. i will have to fool around on that site to see if there
is a way to contact them.

and thanks gemee... i can't remember ....as ususal for me...
but do i have your email address ? do you have mine ? LOL!!!

thanks for the offer !! that would be great and i had told him that
when he does post that there were people who had access to stuff
we did not have access to. so thanks.

as soon as i get a chance i am going to go to that hurricane page
where it says look for found pets, look for lost pets, post a pet, and so on,
and see if there is anything on that page that will allow him to alter
his postings to put his tel number in there.

also, gemee, another thread i am working on, milo the dog, we are
having a problem locating one of the dogs listed that they think
might be milo. maybe you can take a look at that thread and the
pf number they are trying to locate and see if there is anything
behind the scenes that you can find that will help. thanks !!!

PB, you will see my reply on the Milo thread.

Here is a cat that probably is real similar to Fritz, but it is female and much youger, but if Ron sees this, maybe he can point out any major differences in this cat and Fritz.

This shelter in Wisconsin got some hurricane pets. There is not enough in the description to know if this was one, but it looks similar. If my link doesn't work, it is a 7 year old buff cat name Sam.

That one looks just like another lost cat where the only picture was one drawn by a little girl. But I think all of the contact information was invalid. The name of the thread was "You won't believe these LOST pictures."

I have left a voice mail message and e-mail message with Southern Hope about the cat Susan is holding. I also sent an e-mail to a friend who used to work with them (and may still). I'll let you know what I hear back.

As for finding someone who can correct Petfinder information, why don't you contact the lady who was looking for volunteers to verify and correct addresses on Petfinder:

great finds everyone !!
i emailed them all (except the one with the white)
to see if they have a notched ear. so far all my emails
from the other day came back "no notched ear".
we'll see what they say about these.

last night i got a brainstorm and i decided to put ear
in the search area and a ton of cats came up with
notched ears.

so i started copying and pasting them into the thread.
must have worked on it for an hour and then lost it all !!!!

PF had auto-signed me out !!!! aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!
i didn't know if i wanted to scream or cry !!!

and thanks tcat123 that is exactly what i needed.
i will post to her thread to see if she responds.
thanks !!

i wonder what this man will say happen when he returns
from new orleans.
maybe a miracle happened and he found fritz at home ??

the door was knocked open during the storm so Fritz could
have been coming and going all this time ?
