He had a kong... but when he pooped in his crate he got poop in the kong so I had to throw it out. Squeeze cheese is just as good as Kong filler and cheaper too!
Ollie's doing much better- Vet's had him on fluids and his lungs are clearing up. He might come home tomorrow, or at the latest Tuesday.

Ok, I just picked up Ollie from the vet- he's SO much better! His cough has quieted down and he actually hasn't really coughed since I've brought him home!!
I gave him a nice bath when we got home and his coat is nice and soft and he smells good. He really is a sweet dog and everyone at the vet's office commented on how beautiful he is. I need to fatten him up a little bit- I've got him on Chicken Soup (donated by my sister, Paint-- thank you!! He loves it!) and he's doing quite well.
He did just try to pee all over my carpet though. I caught him only after a couple squirts, scolded him, put him in his crate for a minute and then went outside -- when he pee'd out there I gave him lots of praise. I really hope he's not going to do this much more. He's getting better but I'm still growing very weary of him peeing all over my brand new carpet. I guess I can't let him out of his crate unless I'm home and he's just done his business outside. It should hold him off, I would think...
Let's hope. Anyone have any other house training suggestions? I'm at my wit's end!!! |

| I hope the Vet's IV treatment of Ollie has him feeling a lot better soon. Sometimes the IV is what they really need. From what you said about the X-rays, that may be Exactly what he needs. Will the rescue group you got him from cover the cost of all this medical treatment? I'd be willing to send you what I could toward the cost. I wouldn';t be much, but it might help some. |

| Dblred, I think it's really nice of you to offer, but this thread is three years old and it appears that the account of the original poster is no longer valid. |
