| Whole dog journal recently had an article on how vets should give print outs on prescriptions they prescribe to pet owners--like Walgreens or Walmart. So just thought I would poll this. |

Should vets do so? YES!! Does my vet? No
I didn't even think that was an option! I'll be more proactive in the future.[/b] |

| my vet always tells about side effects and other possibilities ect, and is open to questions about drug research we choose to do on our own. He'll give us a few options, lest a few pros and cons of each, and then tell us what he would recommend for a situation and why. He trys to make us as informed as possible because a) if we don't know vomitting is a side effect of the drug, we can't do the obvious thing to stop the vomitting, which would be discontinuing the use and calling him! b) we spend more time with our critters then he does, and know them best. If our dog has a delicate stomache, we may want to go with the second option rather then the first one which may cause vomitting due to his delicate stomache. He really is there for both the animals and the families. |
