Yes
4. Was your animal from a pound, shelter or rescue?
one from rescue, one from shelter
5. How old was your animal when adopted?
8 mos and 3 years
6. Does your rescue have any behavior problems?
no
7. What kind of animal is your rescue?
DOG CAT BARNYARD RABBIT SMALL&FURRY HORSE PIG REPTILE BIRD
cat and dog
8. Is your rescue altered?
yes
9. Is your rescue microchipped?
yes
10. Have you ever had a bad adoption experience?
when i got my cat she was sick. the medication the shelter gave me didn't work so i had to take her to another vet and by that time she was pretty bad so she had to stay there for a few days and I had to pay for board, treatment, and medication.
11. Would you adopt again?
yes
12. Do you donate to rescues?
yes
13. Do you foster animals for shelters?
yes
14. Do you have your own rescue?
no
15. How do you feel about breeders?
There ARE viable reasons to get a purebred dog. But even then you can get one from breed rescue. I don't think people should be breeding because there is such a pet overpopulation problem. But to be honest, I am always pleased in a sense to come across a truly responsible, caring breeder who is working to better their breed, considering all the puppy milling and backyard breeding going on.
16. Have you ever purchased an animal from a breeder?
Yes Crying or Very sad well, my boyfriend did. Sometimes I give my boyfirend what he wants at too high a cost.
17. Have you ever purchased an animal from a pet store?
NO.
18. Do you think shelter have too high of adoption fees?
I think the fees at some shelters are a turn-off to potential adopters, but then do you want someone adopting an animal who can't afford a $90 adoption fee? What happens when the animal needs emergency surgery?
19. Did your animal have any training or manners?
yes
20. Do you know why your animal was turned into the pound, shelter or rescue?
I don't know about my cat. My dog's elderly owner passed away and she was living with relatives who did not want her.

1. Have you adopted an animal from a shelter?
Dog Rescue groups.
2. Was your rescue purebred?
NO
3. Was your rescue a mix?

Both from Rescues
5. How old was your animal when adopted?
1st was 6 mo. old, 2nd was 5 yrs old when adopted.
6. Does your rescue have any behavior problems?
Nothing that a little training & preventative measures can't solve.
7. What kind of animal is your rescue?
DOG CAT BARNYARD RABBIT SMALL&FURRY HORSE PIG REPTILE BIRD
2 Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix dogs
8. Is your rescue altered?
Both were fixed before we brought them home

9. Is your rescue microchipped?
We microchipped our 1st (female) and our 2nd (male) came to us microchipped from the Rescue.
10. Have you ever had a bad adoption experience?
NO
11. Would you adopt again? YES!

12. Do you donate to rescues? Yes! My Husband & I volunteer weekly and donate items every week. We always bring our old newspapers, towels & blankets, we buy snacks & toys for them, buy paper towels, dog dishes, donate money & occasionally other items that we see that are needed.
I also arrange donations of Dog Food with Red Bandana Pet Food Store.

13. Do you foster animals for shelters?
No.
14. Do you have your own rescue?
No.
15. How do you feel about breeders?
The only clients breeders should have are those that will Show the dogs in National competitions. All others should be spayed/neutered. There is too much of an overpopulation problem with dogs & cats.

16. Have you ever purchased an animal from a breeder?
NO

NO They come from puppy mills, which have filthy conditions & not given proper medical care & usually have emotional problems from being taken away from the mother too soon.

18. Do you think shelter have too high of adoption fees?
NO
19. Did your animal have any training or manners?
YES Both of ours came house trained, and both were easy to train with positive reinforcement.

20. Do you know why your animal was turned into the pound, shelter or rescue?
Our 1st (6mo old female) was left behind when family moved (Although I have never found a City or State that banned dogs!).
Our 2nd came to us without a reason. He obviously had been living in a house, judging by the manners he exhibits. Unfortunately, he was found starving, wandering the streets.
