i have a 13 y/o female dog that is incontinent.....she is on medication, but still has accidents in the house even tho i make every effort to see she goes out often...so diapers are the next option...

those that have used them, do you have recomendations of a brand...since she is female and a diaper would be a covering where she needed to pee, how is that handled when she goes outside to pee? does it need to be taken off each time she gopes out? DUH

Yes, you will need to take the diaper off when she goes outside. If she soils herself a lot, try to keep her washed up so she doesn't get urine burn.

I've just used the diaper covers that Petsmart sells, with incontinence pads from the grocery store. Sobe will rub on the walls to peel her diaper off when she thinks we aren't looking. I don't know if there is a better type for stubborn dogs :p

Have your tried hormones with your girl? Low estrogen is a common cause of incontinence in female dogs.

thanks ...i sure hadn`t thought about the pads for inside the covers...to be honest i didnt even realize that there were such a thing.
she is on proin 2x daily. i`ll talk to my vet about hormones.

i have a female cat that leaks and she is fat and can`t clean herself well enpugh... so i must clean her butt with pet wipes and i use a cream ...panalog to heal any irritation...but i never thought i`d be doing a diaper and cleaning services for a 62 lb dog..she`ll be absolutely mortified at wearing a diaper..
