I am hoping that you could help. I am e-mailing for a woman who has 13 cats that she must place by 1/31/13 or they will be sent to a shelter with only 6 cat cages and a high kill rate. The woman can no longer afford to both heat her home and feed the cats and had started keeping unfixed cats in her home. She will be moving in with a relative who will not tolerate more than one cat. She can't even afford to euthanise her cats.
I know you cannot take 13 cats but I was hoping maybe you could take one or two or suggest someone who could. I understand I can't post contat info but please post if you can take any cats or have any suggestions.
Any cats not placed by 1/31/13 will be destroyed. Pictures of the cats are available on the cats' Facebook page:

Due to health and financial difficulties, I am no longer able to care for the fabulous cats featured on this page. The cats all came from bad situations and deserve another chance. If you are a no-kill shelter, rescue group, or cat lover with room in your home and heart for 'just one more' please help me save these cats. We are located in Cass City, Michigan.
Mama Kitty is a real beauty with long black fur, white gloves and white spats. Her eyes are an amazing shade of gold and her long white whiskers look gorgeous against her black fur. Did you ever wish cats could talk? Mama Kitty can and does. She has a lot to say about a number of topics. She will be happy to sit in your lap and discuss any subject with you. Her favorite subject is how happy she is to be in out of the cold. Our guestimate puts her age at 9 years.
This is Emilio. He and his mother came to us when he was just a few weeks old. They had been kicked out of their home because Mama kitty fought with the dog. Emilio is a unique looking 7 year old neutered male. He's a real charmer with the ladies, both human and feline. If ever a cat could be described as 'laid-back' it would be Emilio.
Meet Casper. I don't know if he was abandoned or dumped or what his story is, but he wanted so badly to have a family and home of his own that he actually broke into my home one night while I was sleeping. I believe he's young, under 2 years old. He needs to be neutered ASAP. It took him hardly any time at all to become friends with the resident cats although he cowers if the larger boys pick on him. He's a real love bug who wants nothing more than to curl up at your side for a snooze.
Daisy is a youngster, only 1½ years old. She is a delicate little thing with a tiny face and a cute little pointed chin. Like her brother Dusty she is solid silver and a little lover. She loves to play, but is happiest purring in your lap or snuggling up with you to sleep at night. She gets along with other cats, especially with her brother Dusty. She isn’t fixed yet.
Ollie - Looking for a big, handsome ladies man dressed in a golden tuxedo? Ollie wears a golden mask and will steal your heart. He loves people and loves being petted. His favorite spot is on his back exposing his soft belly for pets. This friendly fellow is about three years old. He loves lady cats and tolerates boy cats. He would love to be the golden star of your home.
Buster is an elderly gentleman who is grateful for any little bit of attention. He asks for nothing more than food in his belly and a soft place to relax. He's very mellow and low maintenance, and would be a wonderful companion for an older person or working couple who are looking for a cat that won't get into mischief if left home alone. His actual age is unknown, but my best guess is that he's between 10 and 12 years old. He's in excellent health, and is neutered.
This is Ebil. He's a neutered male, about 4 years old. Ebil is a big handsome guy who is very friendly and has great manners. He's madly in love with his sister, Winnifur. It would be wonderful if they could remain together but, I will split them up if necessary.
Winnifer – Winnie would win any beauty contest with her long black tabby fur, long white gloves and her striking almond shaped eyes. She looks very much like a Maine Coon except she is a petite little cat. She is also Miss Congeniality and loves to kiss and cuddle with all the other cats. Ebil, her brother, is her closest pal and they are often found snuggling together. We wish they could go together but they can be separated for a good home. Winnie is very affectionate and a total lap rug. Her purr can be heard in the next county.
Charlie – This long haired black tuxedo needs a special person. Charlie wants very much to be petted and to be a lap cat but he is shy and needs a special human to help him become the happy purrball that he so desperately wants to be. Currently though, he is very low maintenance and highly decorative. All he wants is a place out of the cold. We guestimate that this gorgeous guy is close to seven years old.
Dusty – Dusty is Daisy’s sister. They make a lovely matched pair. Both are just 1 ½ yrs old and both have medium length solid silver coats of exceptionally soft fur. Dusty, like his sister, is a real lap rug and is happiest cuddled up next to you at night.
Brunswick – Brunswick is a sleek and shiny black cat who is only a year old. You will be mesmerized by his beautiful golden eyes. He loves everyone, cats or people. He would like nothing better than to sit beside you and watch TV (spots, movies, whatever—he isn’t fussy).
Waffles – Waffles is a 2-3 years old black tuxedo short hair with an adorable black nose. Her cute little round eyes make her look like she is constantly surprised. Waffles is definitely low maintenance. She tolerates other cats, but like Greta Garbo she mostly just “wants to be alone”. All this changes, however, when you start cooking. Waffles must have been a grand chef in her previous life because she loves to help around the kitchen and likes to observe the whole process of creating a meal. She is the perfect cat for a chef. In fact, we expect to see her on --heck--’s Kitchen any day now.
Smidget – Smidget is a gorgeous torby cat. His fur is vividly colored in autumn shades of black, brown, & orange with some stripes thrown in for good measure. His fur is thick and wooly like a little lamb’s. He is our senior cat, maybe 10-12 years old. He is not in perfect health & has lost some weight, but he would love to spend his final yrs someplace warm with people who care. He loves to be cuddle up with you at night or snooze in your lap during the day. |
