Ah, make the most of what we may yet spend,
Before we too into the Dust descend;
Dust into Dust, and under Dust, to lie;
Sans Wine, sans Song, sans Singer, and -- sans End!
Omar Khayyam (translated by Edward FitzGerald)
Mog the Dog here...
Following my favorite human companion's recent 3+ pint hemorrhage due, in part, to complications from a blood disorder, I had reason to take notice of the little piece of artwork on the south-west corner of the Needful Things Room. Indeed, I should heed Khayyam's plea and make the most of my current iteration as Mog the Dog.
And when I do just that, I feel all floaty and cozy and warm and fuzzy and free from the burdens of troubling thoughts...
Attribute it to a diminished blood supply to the Mind of Mog, to an ancient poet turned to thousand-year-old dust, or simply to the early November sun engulfing the Needful Things Room. Or even attribute it to nothing at all. It makes no matter.
It simply feels good to be me today...

Mog,
My almost 13yo son also has a blood disorder but we have never had to deal with anything as scary as that must have been. The worst we have had was a nosebleed. Hopefully your favorite companion is doing better and the blood issues are under control. _________________

Saying a little prayer for you and your human companion, Mog! I thought of you today when I saw that my Begonias produced a beautiful, but tiny pink blossom. ( I've taken care of it all summer and nothing!) I finally decided to let it go because cold weather's coming. Maybe it just needed a little benign neglect?
I wish you were here to wax poetically |

Thanks for all the well wishes! My favorite human companion is back in action thanks to the wonders of modern medicine (and a dozen IV infusions!).
Thanks for thinking of me when you stop and admire the beauty in your garden. I would love to wax poetically in your neck-o-the-woods - it beats waxing the floors any day!
