Mog the Dog here.
Yesterday my favorite human companion planted a twig beside a sprouting pea plant just to see if its first tendril would reach out and grab it.
At some unknown moment in the middle of the night, it did.
And I watched it all, from my spot on the sidelines, as she wondered what it must be like to be a living thing without eyes to see the beauty of its own purpose in life and without sentience to stop and take a moment to wonder about the life form that set everything into its rightful place (including an extra layer of chicken wire) so that a sprouting pea plant could reach out and grab a twig so that a sentient being could smile...
and so that a small flock of hens could be a bit frustrated by a tiny treat just out of reach...
and so that a little toy brindle dog could sit on the sidelines, out of sight but not out of mind, on this fine early autumn morning...
to take it all in, as only a metaphor can do.
Does it get any better than all that?

No, it doesn't.
Thanks once again for your invitation to stop and see the small wonders of life. |

Mog the Dog here, taking a moment on this crisp, frosty December morn to notice that those small wonders have now found themselves bursting forth in the blazing white of full anticipation of something new and wondrous, something green and good...
