| If you keep feeding food to him that he is allergic to, you are wasting your money giving him the shots. You have to stop feeding him what he is allergic to...all the shots in the world won't help until that is done. Was testing done so you know exactly what he is allergic to? If so, save your money on the shots and buy a food he isn't allergic to. |

It might be cheaper to make a homemade diet that doesn't contain the allergens your dog is sensitive to.
Talk to your vet about how to do this. |

| I have heard that the shots can cause health problems. I have a dog that is allergic to poultry and wheat so I feed him a Salmon and Oatmeal food made by Go! Natural. I don't put too much stock in these "limited ingredient" diets. Its best to find a food that contains something your dog has not been introduced to yet. I'd suggest choosing a food that has no corn, bi-products, chicken/chicken bi-product or beat pulp in it. You may have to pay a bit more but if you aren't feeding the dog food that doesn't agitate allergies then you wont have to pay for the allergy shots. |
