Post subject: 5 year old and unwanted chewing for the first time...

I have a 5 year old 25 lb Terrier mix breed which I adopted a year ago. He’s a male and a wonderful dog. Until 6 weeks ago the only socialization issues he’s had relates to separation anxiety, which continues but has improved.

Now he’s beginning to chew things that aren’t his…expensive and dangerous things….IE electrical cords. It’s not frequent, maybe 4 or 5 times in total….he’s never done this before….It occurs when I’m home.

Nothing significant in his life has changed other than I have cut back on his food per the vets instructions…I’m an engineer and work from home….he goes to the dog park once or twice a day….he has toys, gets exercise, and appears to be otherwise very happy…

Any ideas and or recommendations would be appreciated
