Subject: URGENT: 9 purebred Boxers - Marshall, MO
This is an urgent situation!
This weekend 8/27 we desperately need volunteers with SUVs or vans to pick up 9 Boxers from a breeder near Sweet Springs, MO then take them to Marshall, MO (about a 30 minute drive).
In Marshall, the dogs will get their health certificates, then the transport will head for Little Rock, Arkansas where they will meet up with Julian from Boudreaux, Louisiana (in the boot heel of Louisiana). Sweet Springs/Marshall, MO is midway between Kansas City and St. Louis.
If we have enough volunteers with suvs and vans, we will break down the transport into several legs so that no one is driving a long distance.
Possible legs for the transport are attached below.
The situation: The breeder's wife is very ill with muscular dystrophy and breast cancer. Their medical bills are mounting astronomically, and he no longer has adequate finances to continue breeding or caring for his Boxers in the manner they deserve. He desperately wants them to go to rescue where they will eventually find loving forever homes. This is a small breeder who only bred Boxers.
The urgency: The breeder says he cannot afford to keep the 9 Boxers beyond this weekend because he can no longer afford to feed them each week. He does not want to send them to auction, but he says he will have no choice if they do not go to rescue this weekend.
Date of the transport: Julian from Louisiana who would meet the transport in Little Rock would prefer to do the transport on Saturday 8/27, but that can only happen if we have enough crates for all the Boxers and enough volunteers with vans and suvs.
The other option is Sunday 8/28 (if Julian can do it then) because the breeder can loan 3 crates, the Saline Animal League can loan 4 crates (Sunday only), and the vet clinic may be able to come up with 2 crates.
The crates MUST to be returned to the breeder, Saline Animal League and the clinic. We can make arrangements for that as we finalize all the details.
Please, if you or anyone you know can help the 9 Boxers, and save them from going to auction, please email Julian at lppl3@aol.com or myself at jan.marie@yahoo.com as soon as possible!
Thanking you in advance,
Jan Carpenter
