Word has it that the Governor is considering killing animals in shelters after 24 hrs in order to save money. This is an ill-considered idea that will not only mean the senseless taking of precious, innocent animal lives, but is one that will impact the animal loving community in a very negative way. It would mean a lost or abandoned animal, someone's beloved family member could be killed before he/she even had a chance to be picked up or adopted by a loving family. This outrageous and appalling scheme to fill the Jersey coffers at the expense of innocent animals is UNACCEPTABLE and must be rejected at once.
