Post subject: Wanting to help S/N pets for individuals in need
Reply with quote

Trying to establish contacts who are in the trenches to help families keep their pets while placing the unwanteds in loving inside homes.
Offering to Spay/Neuter Mom and/or Dad to end the cycle.

We are located WI/IL area and have transport in place from St.Louis, MO.

So with that said, are there any other independent rescuers or good Samaritans that would like to help one family at a time?

That sounds like a great program!

A shelter by me arranges short term fostering for families in need and another has a low cost clinic and a food pantry. The number of owner surrenders are still bad.

I donate to a rural shelter that releases dogs with a spay/neuter contract. They have a chip in to get shelter dogs fixed so they are more adoptable. If you have a website, you might look into setting up a chip in.

Article in my newspaper today says in my hometown of about 10,000 people, we will have approximately 11 -ELEVEN- stray dogs entering the shelter in 2012.......... there are very, very few dogs needing homes here.

I would love to help a less fortunate family get their pets fixed and place the offspring. You hear of a lot of dogs in need in MO- some having litters upon litters every year. I can understand the reality of feeding the family versus getting the family dog fixed.........

just seems a small part that will add up to hundreds of lives prevented.
