Cattle Dog/Mountain Cur Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH
Large • Young • Female

Meet Pumkin...she has had a rough time of it but she also had a lot of people trying to help her. She was spotted in the road and off to the side of the road across from the dog shelter and different people were trying to catch her. She was limping and we knew she needed help. No one could catch her so a trap was set and we caught her. We took her to the vet and x-rays show that her back leg is broken. Can someone please step up for this sweet girl?

FROM WHAT I KNOW, PUMKIN WENT TO THE VET AND HAD A BROKEN LEG THAT DID NOT NEED TO BE CAST. IT IS HEALING BUT SHE STILL NEEDS RESCUE OR ADOPTION.

Both Pumkin and Tyler ( the other dog that came in with a broken leg) are still at the pound. They are URGENT!

I am afraid that many people think that a dog kept at the pound long enough for a broken leg to heal will be safe indefinitely - that is not the case - many times these dogs just end up being ignored by adopters and rescuers and then one day being euthanized when there is no more cage space.

This happened a while go for Griffin who came in with crushed toes. The toes healed but poor Griffin was just an average all -American dog - a good boy but not a puppy, not a beauty, not a pure bred. Griffin was euthanized when the pound became overcrowded.

Please don't let this happen to Pumkin and Tyler.

PUMKIN FINALLY HAS RESCUE IN CANADA! YAY! STILL WORKING ON TYLER THE OTHER SWEET DOG WITH THE BROKEN LEG. HE HAS HEALED BEAUTIFULLY BUT STILL NEEDS RESCUE.
