PLEASE see Cinnamon below who was shot through the eye by a police officer. Read this pitiful story and email/ call PLEASE to stop this brutality. If you can make a donation send it to Brandy, his owner, she is so sweet and actually works at a vet's office that we use to use, so he is getting good care. The dog was shot in front of her children!!!!

Cinnamon is a big, very sweet and loving yellow lab. About 5 years ago, Cinnamon showed up at the home of Brandy Carver and her family in Blacksburg, SC. He had been hit by a car but the Carvers immediately fell in love with this big guy who was wonderful with their small children. Cinnamon still has scars from road rash, and the Carvers had surgery done on his badly injured back foot. Dr. Zdanowicz at York Veterinary Hospital removed all but one of the toes from the injured foot and it took Cinnamon about a year to heal. Cinnamon walks on three legs now.

On Thursday, July 14, a sheriff's deputy entered the Carvers' fenced yard through a closed gate where Cinnamon was playing with another dog and the Carvers' children were just rounding the corner. Poor Cinnamon hobbled up to the deputy on his three good legs to greet him, and the deputy shot Cinnamon in the eye. Brandy Carver, who now works for York Veterinary Hospital, was called by her 13-year-old daughter who was practically hysterical. Brandy rushed home. She immediately rushed Cinnamon to Dr. Zdanowicz and Cinnamon was given morphine. Brandy took him home and nursed him and continued his pain management. Despite all the pain, Cinnamon tried to lick his family and he kept wagging his tail. On Saturday, Cinnamon underwent surgery for over 3 hours. His jaw on one side was shattered and the bones had to be removed. Cinnamon's eye was also removed and he is now totally deaf. See attached pictures.

Brandy and her family will continue to love and care for Cinnamon and Brandy will prepare special soft food for him to eat. His recovery will be long and expensive. If you can help with a small donation to help the Carvers pay for Cinnamon's surgery and ongoing care, please send it to:
