Post subject: Some good scoop from Monroe County for once =)

Hi All,

For those of you who do not know us we are the Monroe County Dog Pound located in Woodsfield Ohio. Our area like most other areas has an over abundance of Labs, Beagles, and Coonhounds. We are constantly taking them off the streets as strays. The biggest difference between us and many other pounds is we are here for the dogs, we do not want to put dogs to sleep and the Dog Warden and I work non-stop sending dogs to rescues.

Monroe County for years has to take in all the dogs from our neighboring county Noble. We are not only running one county of over population of animals, but also two. This has been going on for around 6-7 years. We are now working with a group of women in Noble that are establishing their own humane society, and are hoping to find grants to get a humane officer and a building so they can start taking their own dogs.

Many of you are probably wondering why is she telling us this, but I want to let the public know that is not in our county or even Ohio, we need your help. If you have ideas, thoughts, anything about setting up getting donations and money to start rolling in let us know. We are working on two different programs of low cost spay and neuter we are going to stop over population in SE Ohio. We are branching out to other counties with these programs once we cut down on ours.

If you know of any grants, or have any advice, or would even like to sponsor a dog for the low-cost spay and neuter let me know, private message me or send an email to kayla_renee2010@hotmail.com . We can use all the help that we can get.

We are also looking into the Pilots and Paws program so we can fly dogs to the New England states.

With the Humane Society, just starting and getting their 501c3 they cannot do much with out the help of people like you and us that are here for the animals. If you want to help in anyway please let us know!

Thank you for your time!
Kayla
