| I am a dog person who does not know a lot about cats. I saw two cats searching in the dumpster behind my local grocery store. I felt sorry for them, so I have been leaving two cans of cat food + water everyday for nearly three months now. They scamper away when I am near, but I notice as soon as I leave they go right for the food. It is getting to be difficult to feed them everyday (I always try to get there at the same time everyday). I also want to catch them and have them spayed or neutered---but I can't do that until my work slows down in a month. Anyway, my question is--if I do catch them and have them spayed, should I release them back behind the grocery store, or should I take them to my backyard. I cannot let them in my house because I have FOUR dogs, plus I assume the cats are feral--though I guess they could be strays but I doubt it. I have a lot of birds in my backyard, and I don't want to a cat to kill any birds. However, if they were in my backyard, it would be easier to feed them everyday. What should I do? |
