Is the Ivermectin you bought made for use in livestock?
Buying Ivermectin in bulk form, that's formulated for the use in livestock, is risky. While preventative heartworm medication formulated for use in dogs is very safe, Ivermectin for larger animals can be very harmful to dogs and even lead to death. Ivermectin for horses, cows and pigs are highly concentrated and using these formulations can lead to overdose. If you are going to buy Ivermectin in bulk it is extremely important that you seek advice from your veterinarian.
Your vet should be more concerned with the health of your dog, than selling Heartworm preventatives. I'd ask my vet, and trust his recommendations over anything I'd read online. |
