My dear friends, Jay & Angela Wolf have had one heck of a ride over the last year and half with more thrown at them than most of us experience in a lifetime.

Just when things looked like they were falling into place for this couple in their early 30s we got the devastating news that Jay has cancer. Over the past year and half he’s battled cranial, esophageal, stomach, testicular, and prostate cancers gone through all types of chemo, done experimental treatments, special diets, acupuncture...you name a possible cure and we’re going to try it. On a positive note they found out that they were pregnant, but unfortunately Abigail Josephine came very early (which further added to the stress/medical bills/etc). Abigail’s doing well now, but we need her Daddy to get better too.

Earlier this week their 1.5 year old dog, Morty (who we rescued from the Town Lake Animal Center last August), stopped eating and drinking and has been at the vet for the past couple of days trying to work out what’s wrong. He’s in surgery today to remove an obstruction but the costs for multiple days at the vet, x-rays, ultra-sound, iv, & surgery have mounted and will top $2,000. We need to keep their funding focused on fighting the cancer/taking care of their human little one, and this wonderful family needs something taken off of their plate so they can just focus on getting better. We did discuss very seriously the option of putting Morty to sleep since they really need to focus money on medical care, day to day bills, & groceries but the family is so emotionally attached to their young pup that giving up on him because of money would be the straw that breaks their backs.

When you consider the amount of love and comfort Morty provides Jay it's a small price to pay. A lot of their burden is out of our control, but this is something we can help with but I need to help to keep them out of debt and to keep Morty around to share his healing power with Jay...not to mention little Abigail needs her "horse" to grow up with.
