Part Time Kennel Technician
Duties:
Accurately complete daily duties which include maintenance of animal records, provide animals with necessary bedding and water, meet standards for exercise, attention, feeding, hygiene, and light medications as required. Continually monitor pets and their kennels to check for needed supplies and care. Extensive time spent cleaning kennels to provide a safe and healthy environment for boarding pets. Keep supervisor apprised of assigned animals’ emotional and physical condition, reporting any signs of stress or other health issues in a timely manner. Assist fellow employees and other departments as needed. Follow safety and sanitation policies throughout facility in order to maintain HWAC standards of excellence.
Qualifications:
Some animal handling experience required, preferably in a kennel environment. Able to properly handle, exercise, and control large dogs and/or cats difficult cats and exotics. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team environment. Must have good verbal and written communication and prioritization skills. Must be detail oriented and organized. Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. Ability to work closely with animal (dog, cat, exotics) hair/dander.
Salary: $9.25/hour
