Animal Care Sanctuary (ACS) is a non-profit no kill animal rescue sanctuary located in the pristine hills of Pennsylvania. ACS was started in 1967 by Leslie Sinclair and is still carrying out her vision of caring for animals. ACS currently houses and provides care to over 800 animals. ACS is currently seeking out an executive director to implement the strategic goals and objectives of the organization, to give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization’s mission and its annual goals and objectives. The position of Executive Director is a critical, visible position requiring demonstrated fund raising ability along with strong management experience. The Executive Director must be able to work closely with the Board and staff to promote an open, inclusive environment that emphasizes cooperation and teamwork with a minimum of ego. In addition, he or she will be bright, diplomatic, analytical, of the highest integrity, and possess sound judgment as well as a sense of humor.
Some of the major duties of the Executive Director of ACS would be:
Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities Management -- Recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manage organization's resources within those budget guidelines.
Fundraising (nonprofit-specific) -- Oversees fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals and administrating fundraising records and documentation
Community and Public Relations -- Assures the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders
Human Resource Management -- Effectively manages the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations

Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree.
5 years experience in management.
Strong fiscal skills with experience in creating and controlling operating and program budgets of comparable size or greater.
Recognized achievement in donor and funder identification and cultivation as well as the ability to generate revenue from state and federal agencies, individual donors, and foundations.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills including grant writing. Must be a passionate and inspiring spokesperson that can raise awareness of Animal Care Sanctuary.
Experience in building, mentoring and motivating a dedicated staff that are able to collaborate and problem-solve.
