The one thing I don't like about Black Friday is the fact that Walmart and Meijer, which are 24 hr stores here in my area, don't close their doors before the official sale starts. Therefore, anybody who happens to be in the store already "shopping around the store", get first grabs at all the deals before anybody else can get in the door! _________________

I usually have to be to work at 6 AM Friday, but I told them I would be in at 9, since I never miss a Black Friday.
My list this year won't be like in years past. The kids are older now (my son and my nieces and nephews).
My son is getting a TV for Christmas, so that is a Black Friday must.
We only have 2 TVs here, one in my mother's room, and one downstairs. My son's old TV is the one he has at college, so there is nothing in his room when he comes home.
Oh, yeah, and his Wii is downstairs now, so when he gets the TV, the gaming system goes back in his room. _________________

I couldn't resist! Despite Black Friday being just around the corner and after-Holiday sales yet to come, I still went shopping anyway and bought a bunch of stuff that'll likely be cheaper if I had only waited.. And now my money is running low! I have about $2OO left to spend and that's it. Hopefully I'll still be able to afford a few gifts that had been put off and a Christmas tree! Doubt it though, at least for the latter.. _________________

That happened when we went to Meijer so we do not go there anymore. Our WalMart is not 24 hours.
I go every year...it's tradition in my family! _________________ If you can read this, thank a teacher.

| Nope, in the past I have always had to work, this is the first year that I have the day off and really cannot be bothered. My Chrismas shopping is simple anyway so the bargains really do not do me any good |

What's with the crazy little doodads in the title of this thread??? I don't think I've seen them here before.
Just curious... _________________

I never buy much at the holidays, so the fact that it's Black Friday doesn't really affect me.
I'll be working, but I might stop in to see those 40% off dog crates at Tractor Supply Company. (Thanks to the PF'r who mentioned that!)
You can never have too many dog crates! |

I went last year. Eric and I were in line at Best Buy at 3:30 am. 3 hours later and $1600 poorer, we left...but with a lot of good deals
Even our Wal-Mart closes on Thanksgiving and reopens EARLYYYYY Friday morning, and it is usually open 24 hours.
I will not be participating this year. I have to work 9-8, and attempt to watch all the football games that are on through the day (Let's goooo Mountaineers!), and then the Mountaineers play basketball at 9 p.m., so I'll be busy all day. |

I'm going to check Petsmart, anyway, and maybe the pet food store will do sales (not likely, I'm thinking, but can't hurt to check). I'm too poor to go big, though |
I got an email coupon Wednesday from Petsmart for $10 off any in store purchase of $35 or more that is good for this Friday.
If you have a PetSmart PetPerks member shopping card, then hopefully they have emailed you your $10 off coupon already. _________________

I don't know, I am really not a morning person at all. The last time I remember getting up that early for a black Friday event was when the Furbies first came out and I was getting one for my young cousins who were 8 and 4 at the time and really wanted one but they were impossible to find. Toys r us announced they had a limited amount and I had to get that really early to get in line.
That was like around 11 years ago. Lately I have been wondering am I missing out? I keep on waiting for a day when these things will be worth me seeing 4 or 5 am. So far nothing since then has been worth it for me. Furby ended up being a bomb. I mean those toys were stupid and the kids played with it for the day and put it on the shelf never to be seen again. _________________
