This is going to be the first year that I have the opportunity to get my hands dirty in all the pushing and shoving that seems to accompany Black Friday. Before this I had always worked and never got the chance to jump-in on all the greatly discounted store items. But I haven't decided yet if the "deals" are going to be worth the road-rage and crazy crowds. After all, isn't this the event where someone always makes the news for being trampled on!?

We live downtown and are about 1O minutes away from most stores. So I'll have a good start if I decide to get on the bandwagon. I'm still in the process of mapping out which stores are top priority. I'm thinking Best Buy will be the first stop. I've considered doing Black Friday online but I'm betting all the homebodies are going that route and that items will be horded and SOLD OUT quickly.

So you gonna do it? Razz

Black Friday is one of my favorite holidays! I think I like it so much because I get to spend time with my mom and sister just gossiping and stuff. I don't even really mind the long lines so much because it means I get to spend more time with them. Sometimes the deals can be really worth it, but other times it's just like a regular sale. My husband ended up getting a couple of things for free one year because the cost of the item was the same as the rebate offered. Another year I got the bridesmaids' dresses for my wedding. They were on sale so much I could afford to buy them for the girls.

Mog the Dog here.

I will be having my annual Black Friday garage sale, so I will miss all the store sales. I get a great turnout every year because so many people are already in shopping mode when they see my huge yard sale signs out and about.

There's really nothing I'm dying to buy.

I have to go buy a ham and I need to get my nails done.

Those places should be empty!

I'm painting the living room. I may end up at the hardware store but that's it.

I have to work anyways.
Now Black Wednesday, tonight, is another story. Craziest bar night and I am participating! But I am not going to drink. I am the DD tonight. We need one the cops are gonna be crawling all over the place.

I'm in. I think this is my first year doing it (that is, if Canada even does it), and heck, if I can save on something for Christmas, all the better. I remember seeing a flyer for DVD players for $10 and I still kick myself for not even at least going to see that (I think I was working, though). I'm going to check Petsmart, anyway, and maybe the pet food store will do sales (not likely, I'm thinking, but can't hurt to check). I'm too poor to go big, though Crying or Very sad

Most of the malls in the Charlotte area open either at midnight or 1am for Black Friday. We'll be heading off to Concord Mills to get some shopping done. Can get some good deals on clothes (esp work clothes). We'll probably go to Best Buy at some point and maybe another store or two while killing time waiting for the big NASCAR blowout sale at the race track. Several of the teams send their souvenir haulers and sell all of this year's stuff at discounted rates. There isn't anything big we're looking for this year. Hubby wants a 1 terabyte external harddrive, however, he's going to get that on line as I think it's NewEgg, but might be one of the other sites he gets alot of computer stuff at that has those on sale at a much better price than anyone does on Black Friday.

I was supposed to go out tonight too, but family matters are making me miss it.

No freakin' WAY am I going shopping on Friday. No.

I MIGHT go to a couple of stores that are open on Thanksgiving day, and have advertised some good sales on some things I'd like to get the kids for Christmas...they open at 7 a.m., so it might happen.

Though I do think it is crappy for the folks who have to work Thanksgiving day, so maybe I won't go and will call it a protest... Confused I won't have any idea until tomorrow...I'm not so good at the advance planning thing.

I hadn't even thought about going out tonight. I expect it will probably be pretty quiet. The news this morning said we will be having DUI checkpoints every weekend from now through the new year! I really don't understand how anybody ever gets caught at those...they always let you know when and where they are going to be...

I really wasn't impressed this year. Am going to go out though with my dad. My mom and I usually go, but since she's the manager in electric now, she has to work and can't just switch to nights like she usually did.

Wal-Mart has great deals on TVs so we'll see if I can manage to get one.
Menards has the other best deals.
Also hitting Tractor Supply. They have wire dog crates for 40% off. Thinking of buying Jake one of those and then donating his plastic one.

Also heading to KMart on Thanksgiving morning. They have lots of things I was interested in.
