Wanting to volunteer for a bird rescue IL?

I live in Illinois and I've been wanting to find a local bird rescue to volunteer my time with. I do not work and have my own form of transportation and have the time and would like to learn more about different breeds of birds and or parrots.

So I thought ok the quickest way to find a local rescue would to do a search on Petfinder to see what was in my area. But the only one I found was in Northbrook Illinois - which is a bit of a distance from me http://www.rescuethebirds.org but they won't answer a email, I do not know if they are just behind or it's its a old email address but either way does anyone here know of a bird rescue in the Illinois area who would be looking for a volunteer?
I live towards the Island Lake / McHenry area.

I have all hours available 7 days a week and I have no children so I'm pretty much open to any kinda hours I might be needed for to help out. I do have a slight disability so I can't do any extreme lifting but I do not mind physical work that I can handle and would like to be of help for anyone looking for a volunteer.
