“He’s a real Nowhere Man ;;” Here's this guy's story. A couple found him living in a feral colony. They noticed how friendly he was and thought he was a spayed, declawed female. They asked us to find him a home and gave us $125 to do so. He was in terrible shape, matted fur, diarrhea, upper respiratory -- so the focus went into getting him back in shape physically. Through all of this he remained a very friendly cat. It was soon discovered that he was not a she and he was not declawed -- something was obviously wrong with his feet. A first trip to the vet explored a possible neurological condition (Lyme test $38, fecal $10, venipuncture $15, office visit $30); a second trip to the vet resulted (finally) in an x-ray ($50 2 views metacam to relieve possible pain $2.50) showing that his 2 front ankles have been broken and healed back improperly, resulting in the way he walks (see his video). He is a very loving cat. We are not sure what needs to be done for him at this point (we have spent the donation and then some and more vetting needs to be done). Finding him a great home would be a great first step. "Nowhere man, please listen, you don't know what you're missing, Nowhere Man, the world is at your command."
http://www.youtube.com/v/LUPbpRpGIPs This video will show you how he walks. A woman and her two girls came in or advice on treating a sick kitten. They fell in love with him but could not afford his adoption fee. |

Wow, he is amazing!!!! I would take him in a heartbeat if finances allowed. He is a trooper and so deserves a wonderufl life!!! I wonder if anything can be done to help or if he is in pain at all. He doesn't seeem to be too impaired and certainly can manage. Poor soul. I wonder how those breaks happened. _________________

omg beth I'm in love! I wish I could take him. I have 3 cats on antidepressants now, and discovered a pee spot on the carpet a few days ago and pulled up the carpet and realized it was way worse than I thought. So now we are taking on a major remodel of the hallway...ripping down paneling, putting up drywall, new doors (the cat pee soaked into the old doors), tiling the floor...I just keep reminding myself that I do love my cats...I really do. I wish I could help, I can't even help with money right now |

| He's going back to the vet for neuter and suggestions on any other treatment but we are kind of on the edge of closing and one of our members says we can't run up more vet bills if we aren't going to be here anymore. We used his sponsor money and I will ask the vet what else can be done. We'll have to go from there. |

| This cat is a survivor and deserves another chance. Thanks for giving him that chance. |

BCoo, if someone can pay the adoption fee for that lady and her kids so they could take him home, would that work? How much is his adoption fee?

we have not qualified them as adopters and we don't know if NoWhere Man will need additional or continuing medical or not.
Our adoption fee is only about $50.
If they cannot afford that, how can they make a home for a special needs cat. |

| I can not stop thinking of this poor sweetie. Have you thought about contacting Best Friends Animal Society? They take in special needs animals in their Guardian Angel program. It wouldn't hurt to try...When is his next vet visit? |

NoWhere Man has received $30 in donations. That's enough for him to go back for an office visit and we will have to decide from there.
They may give him another anti-inflammatory/pain shot.
Some of our needs have been crossposted to Best Friends message board but to my knowledge they have never taken a pet from our shelter.
I notice they are mentioned by pretty much everyone in so many cases. It would be impossible for them to help as many as are mentioned. |
