Post subject: Episode 8: Insider notes from production team

I loved how brave Star was when she rode a two-thousand pound Belgian horse! And I will never forget going on a ride with Star!

-- Dina Zaphiris, Petfinder Host

One of the most memorable experiences of the series for me was being there when Star first met her new horse, Mya. It was like watching two friends be reunited with one another. They were absolutely at home with each other immediately, and to know that Mya had been rescued by NorCal Equine Rescue from an uncertain fate on a feed lot, brought tears to my eyes.

-- Esther Reyes, Co-Executive Producer

Star Carless is a very inspiring person. To go through what she has been through and still have the drive to reach for her dreams really shows that anything is possible. I am proud to know her and her family and to have contributed to this episode.

-- Robin Acutt, Producer

Collecting cans to adopt a horse seems like an impossibility to most of us. Star's determination was inspiring. Knowing Star, she ultimately would have found a way to get her own horse some day. Star deserves a great horse like Mya and the Petfinder team expedited the process by bringing them together.

-- Dennis Saldua, Associate Producer

I thought this was the best episode to date, by far. Star and her family seem like such great people. And I agree with what they said on the show, that Mya and Star just seemed to "fit" together instantly.

And I have to admit, my eyes welled up more than once during the show!
