Post subject: Episode 4: Insider Notes from Members of the Petfinder Show!

"The Gees" -

"When I signed on to work on the Petfinder show, I knew that it would change my life, in one way or another. I have been working in television for over 12 years, but animals have always been my first love. I was a little worried that I would end up falling in love with every animal I met on the show, and, lo and behold, it on my very first shoot I fell deeply and madly in love. The Gee family’s first teacher’s pet was a Phoebe, a beautiful four-month old mixed breed puppy, and we bonded big time. While Phoebe and one of her sisters had recently found homes, their other sister was still available for adoption. The following Monday I went over to Bark Avenue, the rescue group that had taken in Phoebe and her two sisters when they were just six weeks old, to scout the location for another episode. There I met Adelaide. She looked exactly like Phoebe, and when I saw her, I knew she would be mine forever. Two months later, the third sister, who had been adopted by a young couple, was returned to Bark Avenue. The couple did not realize how much work it was to raise a puppy, and decided that it was just too disruptive to keep her. I began to “foster” Jezebel until she found a new home, but after just a week I knew that I could not give her up.
Adelaide, Jezebel and I recently moved to Austin, Texas to join my fiance, and it has been amazing to explore my new city with my two best friends. They are my first dogs as an adult, and I truly can’t imagine life without them."

Gee Family:

"When you think of rats, conventional wisdom suggests the New York
City Subway rat - a pest rather than a pet.  But Guinness the dumbo
rat, featured in the Gee Episode, fascinated the whole crew with his
intelligence and warmth.  I would say that was the most charming and
charismatic pet I've ever met.  A gentleman and a scholar."
