I remember this dog. It seems to my memory that he was in the 9th ward. I wish I could remember wether he was rescued or not. He was definently the more vivid memories to me. I think of him when I think of the whole mess. I will look to see what I find out.

Found it!!!! I am glad to be reminded that he was rescued.
Many of you may remember the media photo of the Aussie behind bars in the lower 9th ward.
The photographer was kind enough to go back to that site, and found a sign painted on the house that said: SPCA One Dog Taken. 9 - 28.
The address is: 2549 Jonquil, 70122.
With this information, how can I find out if the dog was reunited with his family?

The dog on the petfinder site looks like a dalmation or hound or mix. There is pic. on justthinkingaboutit.blogspot.com of the dog behind the bars. Go to archives; 9-8-05. He was hairyer (sp) and had more black on snout. This site I found has most of the pics that were published. Just go to an archive date when you think you saw them in media.

Thanks, everyone.
olddog: the photo was taken 9-5. If I find it in the archives, how will that tell me whether it's been reunited or not?

Thank you for letting us know about that dog...Everytime I saw that picture of him behind those bars, it would break my heart thinking that he likely was never saved. So very happy to hear this news. Some of the pictures of those animals after the hurricane still haunt me.....

Thank you for remembering this dog. The other ones in media photos were outdoors -- so I don't think there's any way of every knowing their fate.
