Katrina Dog That Also Survived Medical Research Lab Needs A Home
This is Morgan. She needs your help.

A Mississippi pound sold Morgan to a research lab when she was a puppy. The research lab sold her to a college for dissection. Then Katrina hit, and the young student she was assigned to grabbed her and ran, saving Morgan's life in the chaos.

Then after Katrina, she was adopted by a family who keeps her outdoors 24/7 - in a tiny 10' x 10' pen!!!!! Now her "family" wants her gone.

This girl has had no life at all. She has survived the horrors of vivisection AND Katrina!

Rescuers now fear the family will turn her in to the pound at any time. She is in immediate danger.

She's full of energy, beautiful and very sweet. She just doesn't know the rules on how to behave because her 'owners' never taught her and forced her to live life in a tiny outdoor kennel 24/7.

PLEASE, let's find this girl a home!! Lab lovers ..... help Morgan!!

2 yrs oldfully vetted, spayed, etc.

WAIT!!! Back up the bus!!

I have a home for her here in Iowa, but I think all the contacts haven't been reached yet. She will be going to live with a couple who recently lost their 12 year old Black Lab and are feeling rather empty at their house!!!

Thank you for helping this dear dog.

Hi,

MNCATS, no she is not at our rescue. I just crossposted her because it sounded like she needed help. We are in NO Virginia. Morgan is in TN.

Vicster,

Thank you for helping this girl!

I hope I did not interfere with something you where working on for this girl before I posted this here?

Please keep us posted.

Thank you,

Karen

Let's please be careful about making sure of the availability of animals needing rescue. I received an e-mail about this dog and replied back to the e-mail that I would take her. I had a family waiting for her.

Of course, she had already been adopted and now I must tell the family that she is not coming to live with them. They are heartbroken over the loss of their Lab of 12 years, and are eagerly awaiting Morgan's arrival. However, Morgan will not be arriving.

Morgan was adopted out VERY quickly. At the time of the posts, she was really in a tough situation and needed a home quickly...

We are very thankful that she was rescued and is safe. Even though her almost-new-mommy was disappointed, she was very happy to know that Morgan has found a loving home.

Vicster,
Here's hoping there is another Black Lab out there that the new family could help. Thanks for your efforts.

Just this morning my daughter was telling me about a super sweet 5 year old black lab in danger at her shelter in NC. She'll arrange transportation to a new home. I can't paste the link but she's Chi Chi on the petfinder listing at:

Beaufort County Animal Control

For more info IM me.

Good Morning,
Long time since I last posted but my hubby was sick and it was necessary for me to take a second job so getting on here was almost impossible. I hope this other Black Lab works out and it was disappointing about the first one but they say that God works in strange ways some times so maybe his plan was for the couple to adopt the second Lab in the first place. Either way, I hope we get a very happy ending to this lab getting a "forever home". We have our houndie paws crossed here.
Hugs to you all and Happy New Years to You and your family,
Hugs,
Valerie in PA

Hi Everyone! "Mindy", the Blk Lab in NC is staying at the home of a very dear shelter volunteer, waiting to come to Iowa. However, transport efforts have been futile and we have decided to fly Mindy here so she and her new family can start their new life together.

I have never asked for donations and I feel awkward doing this, but I must at this point. We have a donated crate and $200 but need about $150 or so more to get Mindy to Iowa.

If you are able and willing to give even $5.00 towards her flight expenses, many people and one dog would be eternally grateful!! Thank you. You can click the "Donate" button at my PetFinder site. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/IA149.html Thank you. Vicki
