In 6th grade I only knew one person. Jordan. Onday, I met someone new, a girl named Kelsey Smith. And we came up with a idea. Spots Foundation.
We quit, and started, quit, I quit, she started, then we both quit. It was where we planned to take in unwanted dogs and cats, use donations to spay/neuter and get there shots. ALL the money would go to animal Shelters. We want to do this, but HOW can two 13 year olds, with some other helpers do this when NOBODY belives in us? None of our friends beside the ones helping us, nor family belive in us. We've spent many hours making ideas after we get the money. But we can't figure out how to get started. Every one says, "You should wait, till your older, etc," but we don't want to wait. There are thousands and millions of animals dying everday and we want to make a diffrence. But it's hard, please, help!
Ideas, tips, anything
Thanks!!!! |

Your idea is excellent but I believe you need to re-direct your thinking & I'll explain why.
You have no where to keep assorted animals & some of them may need housebreaking & other training. How will you do all that when you are in school?
There may be limits on the amount of animals you can have at your home, which is really your parents home, so they would need to agree to all this.
Shelters are not going to allow you to get animals out of there as anyone adopting must be of legal age to sign a contract.
There are a dozen or so more reasons but lets talk about what you CAN do.
You can do some fundraisers for your local shelter or AC. Here are some that don't take much to do. Perhaps if you are in the GS's or 4H you could do this to earn credit.

There is also a book called Fundraising for Dummies about $15 from Amazon.com that has some great ideas already used by shelters.
You could do a "stuff" drive, where you collect items that the shelter needs such as blankets, used collars & leashes, postage stamps, bleach etc.
Speak with the shelter director & see what they need help with. Good luck |

What most shelters/rescues need help with is fundraising or wish list drives which you and your friends are completely capable of doing. Here are a few ideas:
-run a change drive at your school and get a local pizza parlor to donate a pizza party to the class that collects the most change.
-let family, friends, schoolmates know the items on your local shelter's wishlist and set a collection date and how you'll go about collecting the items from people.
-set up the shelter on www.goodsearch.com and then get your friends to use it
-collect used CDs/DVDs/video games and sell them online at www.cashforcds.com and give the proceeds to the shelter.
I hope this helps. Any shelter would be lucky to have your help. |
