Ok I got into a debate about this on another forum, and I wanted to see the responses here. When you have guests over, do you let them sleep in your bed?

I don't actually have a guest room but my almost new travel trailer with queen size bed, full kitchen and bath, with air conditioning, color tv and stereo is sweeeeeet! Nobody would want to sleep in my room - it's full of dog hair! Embarassed

I do not let anyone (besides the cat) in my bedroom. It's my personal space.

Although I rarely have guests. If they're staying for a longer than a weekend, then I point them to hotels. I like my privacy.

I can't choose anything cause my situation changed.

I always used to give up my bed to the guests cause even when I have a spare bedroom, I don't have another mattress or futon. But I have a sofabed in the livingroom, so I usually slept on the sofabed.

Now, I need to keep Brooklyn separate from the others and Brooklyn and Georgia sleep with me in the master bedroom. I don't want to move them to another room when I sleep or let the guests sleep with them cause Georgia would get too scared. So the guests have to either sleep on the sofa or on the dog beds or they have to bring sleeping bags. Laughing

Like if I have friends over for a sleepover-and we decide to sleep in my room- I give my bed to them. I sleep on the floor.

Nope. If you want to sleep at my house there is a single bed in the guest bedroom and there is a couch and of course there is always the floor or a chair. If you want something else, you can go to a hotel. Oh or I could set up a cot if you want. Actually about the only people who are going to be here to spend the night would be my parents and sisters anyway.

We have a hide-a-bed couch, so technically they get the couch (though it’s pretty lumpy).
When we stay at my parents they blow up the airbed for us.

When I was younger (and single) guests were always welcome to sleep in my bed with me… Smile And I really mean just sleep (well, sometimes..) ..I never had a decent couch so it would be climb on in if ya want to sleep,, but I'll warn ya I snore.

and I like to cuddle...

Nope. I wouldnt let anyone else sleep in our bed. And personally, I wouldnt want to sleep in somone else's marital bed, either.

I have a guest room with a bed in it. If guests have to sleep over, they sleep there. But I dont really like people in my home, so I always recomend a hotel. Thats what they are for.

Yes, I am anti-social. Wink

I used to let them use our bed (especially if it is family), but since moving to this house, the dogs are allowed in our bedroom so if anyone needed to sleep over, they would need to take the sofa bed. I don't have a guest room, I use the extra bedroom as my office.

Oh, one positive thing about giving up my bed was that I can honestly say that "Jahmal was in my bed." Laughing

we used to have a guest room, then we had a Gwen!

We have a pull out in the living room but it is only a twin pull out, I put a feather bed on top of it to make it nice a comfy. We also have an air matress and a full size feather bed for it, if you can find the dloor space to set it up!

I offered my bed to my close friends one night, since Chris was away. I could have slept on the pull out and they in my bed. As it was Bridge passed out of the couch with grobbles and matt slept in the fold out.

We haven't had overnight guests in 4 years. Most of our families live nearby and my out of town friends have family here so they stay there. We used to have a guest room and an extra sofa. We still have a guest bed but it is in the dog/cat room. Zach's crib is in our room so it wouldn't work to have company stay in there. I would probably have all the dogs come upstairs and sleep with us.

Very comfy and expensive pull out couch in the living room is good enough for guests. My bedroom is my sanctuary and it's the only one I got believe me!!

have no problem sharing my bed. on my wedding night all of my brides-maids came back to party at my house instead of hitting a motel and some of the groomsmen. i let my maid of honor and her hubby sleep in my bed (jim and i were off to a hotel). I made sure she had clean sheets....but..................

they could stay here and party, plenty of beds for the rest, couches etc but they had to take care of the dogs. Lol my maid of honor laughed her --I have a Potty Mouth-- off all night because they never had a 110 lb dog keep getting in the bed with them and sleeping between them. Every time she thought he was gone and fell asleep she felt him re-entering his domain.

While I have a guest room now, I would certainly give up my bed, and anything else necessary to give my guests the utmost hospitality. In India, we have a saying "a guest is truly God," and showing proper care and hospitality to our guests is a priority for everyone...

A guest in my home will be shown proper hospitality, care and attention from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave - never mind if that will cause me or my family any small trouble. I would be ashamed to have someone less than comfortable while staying in my home! Embarassed
