One of the men on Oprah's cheater show said something like he cheated because it made him feel "adored."
I think that makes a lot of sense, whether it's adored for their body, adored for the pleasure they dish out, adored for their personality, adored emotionally.
I can understand those feelings if you're not getting that in your marriage, however, I think people are jerks for acting on them.

Infidelity, to me, is two things...physical and emotional. It can be both, or it can be one or the other.
Anything beyond a hug and/or a kiss on the cheek to a female friend is infidelity to me. Kissing on the lips is something people do in an intimate relationship and it is totally inappropriate to kiss another man or woman on the lips in front of your partner...unless the person is gay, because I kiss my male gay friends on the lips all the time  .
If your partner is EMOTIONALLY invested in a relationship with another woman or man, that is cheating too. If your partner is more concerned with the needs of that person, frequently chooses that person over you, says that they have romantic feelings for that person...then that is infidelity.
I am old-fashioned, and many people disagree with me on this, and that's okay with me. I hope no one will argue with me over what I'm about to say, because I believe what I believe and you believe what you believe and that's okay with me.
I consider viewing pornography and going to strip clubs infidelity. In the Bible it says (in so many words), "If a man so much as looks at another woman with lust, he has committed adultery in his heart". I don't say that because I am a zealously religious person, but because it encapsulates my feelings about those two things perfectly. |

A bone of contention between my husband and myself. Not so much the pornography as the strip clubs. It doesn't happen often, just the occasional batchelor party but I feel disrespected nonetheless. |

Fire I agree with you 200 percent. Me and the husband hold the same feelings on what cheating is to us. And when I brought up that we were talking about this on here. He quoted that same verse. So yeah me and my hubby agree totally with what you just said.
